IDA Milwaukee
Hello to all of you that are involved or interested in Downtown Lincoln. Our President, Terry Uland, and I are both members of the International Downtown Association (IDA). This is an organization that has more than 650 member organizations worldwide including: North America, Europe, Asia and Africa. IDA uses the knowledge and unique capacity to nurture community partnerships and is a guiding force in creating healthy and dynamic centers that anchor the well being of towns, cities and regions of the world. Most importantly, I feel that IDA offers a true perspective on how to deal with “downtown” issues, which is hard pressed to find anywhere else.
As a benefit of being an IDA member, I am lucky enough to travel to some of their conferences which have recently been hosted in such cities as New York, Calgary, New Orleans and San Antonio. On September 12th, I am heading to the city of Milwaukee to participate in IDA’s 55th annual conference. In order to get you more involved with the process, I will be blogging each day about different issues, facts and comments that arise during the conference.
With that said, I look forward to reporting my findings during day 1 of my stay in Milwaukee.
Thanks,
Todd Ogden, Marketing Director
Downtown Lincoln Association
