Special Pre-Chautauqua Event in Lincoln!
“Homestead Express” is an event in Lincoln, NE on May 19-20, 2012 supporting the Free Land?Chautauqua, which takes place at Homestead National Monument of America on May 21-25, 2012. Get a game board and visit sites in Lincoln and Beatrice to have fun and win a prize! Turn in the completed game board at Homestead National Monument during the Chautauqua May 21-25.
Event partners include Bennett Martin Public Library,Bess Dodson Walt Branch Public Library, City of Lincoln , Lied Center for the Performing Arts , Lincoln Children’s Museum , Lincoln Children’s Zoo, Lincoln Convention and Visitor’s Bureau, Nebraska Historical Society, Nebraska History Museum, NebraskaHumanities Council, Nebraska Educational Telecommunications , Pioneer Park Nature Center, and Sheldon Museum of Art.
The goal of this event is to create awareness of the Chautauqua happening at Homestead National Monument of America by offering citizens an experience in Lincoln and encouraging them to attend the evening performances on May 21-25, 2012.

The Nebraska Statewide Behavioral Health Conference will be held May 21-23 at the Cornhusker Hotel in Lincoln.
Governor Heineman signed a proclamation last month making May “Behavioral Health Recovery Month,” and it will be on display at the event!
The conferences features Bob Newton, Pat Deegan, PhD, Paolo del Vecchio, Laura Prescott, John McAndrew and Tom Lane as keynote speakers. There will be a number of workshops that focus on advocacy and education, children’s behavioral health, effective communication, individual wellness and growth, integration and collaboration of services, recovery and peer support, and trauma informed care.
