“The Three Musketeers” at UNL’s Howell Theatre

Love, heroism, and adventure abound in this fast-paced and witty adaptation of the timeless swashbuckling tale by Alexandre Dumas.  Spectacular fight choreography will keep you on the edge of your seat as you follow the adventures of d’Artagnan, a young Frenchman who joins forces with the famous musketeers Athos, Porthos, and Aramis.  These heroes, along with d’Artagnan’s sister Sabine, must bravely confront treacherous and vengeful villains to defend the honor of the Queen of France.

Show runs Feb. 23-25, 29 and March 1-3 at 7:30 pm in UNL’s Howell Theatre at 12th and R Streets. Tickets can be purchased online at unltheatretickets.com or by calling the Lied Center Ticket Office at 402-472-4747.  Ticket prices are $16 for adults, $14 for seniors 62+, and $10 for students with ID.  A group rate of $5 each for groups of 10 or more is available through the Lied Center Ticket Office.

From the song-writing team of Ashmen and Menken (The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast) Little Shop of Horrors is an affectionate spoof of 1950s sci-fi movies centering around Seymour, a down-and-out skid row floral assistant, who becomes an overnight sensation when he discovers an exotic plant. Soon “Audrey II” grows into a quick-witted, R&B-singing mean machine who offers Seymour fame and fortune in exchange for keeping his unique appetite satisfied. With dark comedy and great music, this is a production you won’t want to miss!

Doc Severinsen at the Lied

“Heeeeere’s Johnny!” That lead-in, followed by a Doc Severinsen big band trumpet blast, was the landmark of late night television for three decades. Now,  Doc Severinsen and His Big Band have been on the road successfully touring to sold out crowds since 1992 with pop, jazz, ballads, big band classics and, of course, The classic Tonight Show theme.
