Celebrate Earth Day with Kid Command’s Online Virtual World
Posted on April 22, 2010 in Business Briefs, News Releases 0 Comments
Just in time for Earth Day, DLA caught up with local entrepreneur, Collin Caneva, CEO and President of Green Bein’ Productions. Green Bein’ Productions, Inc. is the parent company to Kid Command, an online virtual world that sends kids around the globe on adventures that empower them to be better world citizens. Caneva believed so strongly in the Kid Command vision that he shut down his previous business of 12 years and began to assemble a team to start Green Bein’ Productions, Inc. (November 2009). Their corporate headquarters is currently located at 1442 O Street, Suite C.
Kid Command is more than a virtual world, it is appropriate for children and families of all ages. The content is exciting and fun, but also educational in terms of planet Earth’s environmental challenges. The games, challenges, campaigns, activities, quests, and missions are designed for kids in the 7 to 12 year old range.
“Our team believes that the seeds for real world change must be planted and tended to in the hearts of kids everywhere. To that end, we will continue to envision, design, and develop the most exciting ways of bringing relevant world knowledge to youngsters wanting to make a collaborative and positive impact on the future of our planet,” said Caneva.
Playing Kid Command is simple. You can register for a free account or sign up for a monthly subscription. Free accounts are fun, but subscription accounts (called Kid Commander Accounts) will give you a truly revolutionary gaming experience since Kid Commanders are the first to know of new enhancements, and will get to access more regions as they are unveiled. Where else can kids get the gaming they crave, but also learn about how to become a generation of curious, wise, compassionate, and proactive world leaders? The goal of Kid Command is to create something new and different. Combining purpose, stealth-learning, and entertainment is new and different. Kids learn about heritage and eco-systems near and far. Kid Command takes them out of their backyards and virtually around the world to show them what they can do to help right now and into the future.
The continuing story revolves around a wise race of intelligent animal species from a far away planet called, Gorf. There are parallels between environmental events that happened on Gorf and planet Earth. Gorfians are working with Earth’s kids to make sure that Earth does not endure some of the same disasters Gorf did. Kid Command is the organized effort and communication link between the Gorfian animals and Earth’s kids. It engages youngsters in a wonderful and exciting story that they actually become a part of as they embark upon quests and missions for the Kid Command team.
Games aside, Green Bein’ Productions, Inc. understands that parents are busy, but want online time for their children to be safe and monitored. That’s why they created Parent Command—a free supplemental site that offers parents peace of mind by giving them a consolidated view of their children’s account.
• Review in-world chat conversations
• Set time limits for kids
• Gain access to site enhancements and events
• Network with other families who share “green values”
• Receive news and offers from eco-happy companies
• Easy green-living tips, projects, and activities for the whole family
In addition to empowering children to make a REAL world difference, Kid Command (Green Bein’ Productions, Inc.) offers downtown Lincoln economic diversity. They are a creative hub for a talented team of people that work locally and throughout the world. The newest region in development is the United States.
Green Bein’ Productions, Inc. currently networks with local talent and organizations to create educational content specific to the Midwest. They have done minimal advertising for Kid Command up to this point as not to flood the world as they work out the bugs. The next milestone to look forward to is the re-launch of Kid Command which is scheduled for early summer (June 2010).
