Holiday Show to Fill the TADA Theatre With Glee
Posted on November 16, 2009 in Arts & Entertainment 0 Comments
TADA’s tradition of fun and creative holiday productions continues this December with A Rockin’ Christmas.
Spoofing such shows as Glee and High School Musical, this original show centers around the All Girls School of Famed Performing Arts where an eclectic group of misfits gather to put on their holiday concert. There is Crissy, the student who majors in playing the tuba; Tanisha, a streetwise single mother; Alexander, the class hunk; Nicky, who has been acting since the age of eight; Tim, the transfer student with a nervous stomach; Jamm, a girl focused on her cell phone and Facebook; and Mr. Skinner, an aloof faculty member. When the group discovers that there are not enough funds to do the concert, they gather together in song and ‘stylized movement’ to raise the money to treat the audience to a show that allows them to take a break from the hustle and bustle of this time of year. This production, packed with both familiar and new holiday tunes, is perfect for everyone to enjoy the great gift of music and laughter this holiday season.
The Rockin’ Christmas features David Claus, Jamie Unger, Nicole Hustad, Cris Rook, Lisa Taylor, Alex Walker, and Dustin Witte. The show is directed by Robert D. Rook, with musical direction by Cris Rook, technical support by Chuck Danskin, and costumes by Megan Whitaker.
Production dates are December 10-13/17-20 with performance times Thursday, Friday & Saturday at 7:30 pm and Sunday at 2:00 pm. Tickets are $18.00 (Thursday-Saturday) and $15.00 (Sunday matinees). This show is done in cooperation with the Food Bank of Lincoln and all patrons are encouraged to bring a donation for the Food Bank when attending the production.
The award winning TADA Theatre is located in the Creamery Building at 7th & P Streets in the historic Haymarket district of Lincoln, Nebraska. Tickets can be reserved by calling (402) 438-TADA (8232) or on-line at www.tadatheatre.info
