Casey Sheppard Designs
Casey Sheppard Designs specializes in one-of-a-kind jewelry ranging from earring sets, necklaces, bracelets, and rings as well as wall pieces.  She uses the technique of soldering to transform metals such as sterling silver into “unusual, unique wearable art.”  Sheppard also experiments with cold connections which are basic mechanical joining techniques used to fasten together parts that cannot be soldered (i.e., using a “hot” connection) such as rivets, tabs, screws, knots, prongs, and bezels.  Sheppard’s early designs were considered very organic, earthy pieces but have evolved into post-apocalyptic raw looks with futuristic flair.  Her current works can be described as “Steam-Punk” which is a subgenre of “punk” fashion that uses style combinations from the Victorian era England and the Industrial Revolution.
Casey has already been involved with many local art auctions at the Lied Center in Lincoln and The Bemis Center for Contemporary Arts in Omaha.

Sydney Lynch Jewelry
Sydney Lynch Jewelry combines sculptural contemporary design with the highest quality craftsmanship to create a unique collection of wearable art.  Her handmade designer jewelry features contemporary earrings, bracelets, necklaces, pendants, cufflinks and pins in 18k and 22k gold and sterling silver. From her studio based in Lincoln, Nebraska, Sydney Lynch creates both her Designer Line and one of a kind pieces that include a variety of gemstones such as diamonds, opal, aquamarine, tourmaline, pearls, beryl, peridot and sapphire set in high karat gold and silver.
A nationally recognized designer for 25 years, Sydney’s work has been exhibited at leading juried shows and is sold at fine craft galleries and jewelry stores across the country.

Sara Bucy | Handmade Modern

Raised in rural Nebraska, Sara Bucy is a self taught jewelry artist and owner of Handmade Modern in Lincoln, Nebraska. She relies upon her training in theatre and architecture as a basis for her design process. Her work is influenced intensely by the natural landscape, the built environment and our interaction with both. Sara strives to re-interpret her surroundings into minimalistic ornament.
Handmade Modern Studio and Gallery in Lincoln is part of the Parrish Project collaboration of artists. First Friday of every month all the artists and galleries open their spaces to the public. Handmade Modern shows a local featured artist, accompanied by jewelry and textile designs of the gallery’s owner Sara Bucy.

Lori Paulsen
Lori Paulsen enjoys working with metals and gemstones to bring out their inherently unique and striking qualities.  The passion started with a silversmithing class in 1996 and was further inspired with a lapidary class, learning stone cutting and polishing techniques. From there, it became an adventure with an infinite myriad of possibilities with precious metals, slabs of stone and individual pearls.
Nature provides beautiful raw materials, and she translate those raw materials into her vision of wearable works of art. Lori’s pieces are designed to enhance the everyday beauty of life.
The designs flow from imagination and evolve from the raw materials into art. Sterling silver is manipulated, formed, soldered, drilled and impressed with designs, then united with one-of-a-kind exotic and traditional stones, gems and pearls; and some designs are created from unique materials not commonly used for jewelry.
Lori Paulsen’s designs attempt to widen the perspective of jewelry. From timeless strands of pearls to eclectic earrings and bracelets, there is something for everyone to enjoy.

Jette Vogt will also be exhibiting her new works at the show.
