LSO Drops Ticket Prices for Last Concert

This May, the Lincoln Symphony Orchestra’s season finale will feature one of music’s most beloved works, Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9. It is a piece that changed the face of symphonic music. Preceded by Beethoven’s Consecration of the House Overture, Symphony No. 9 is a work of revolutionary innovation.This masterpiece closes with the exultant Ode to Joy, its famous melody celebrating joy, freedom and humanity. Nebraska Wesleyan and Lincoln Civic choirs will join LSO onstage along with soloists Jamie Reimer, Rebecca Shane, Ryan MacPherson and Jeff Keele. Edward Polochick will be the conductor and Nebraska Wesleyan and Lincoln Civic Choirs, Dr. William Wyman is the director.
LSO believes so strongly that everyone in Lincoln should have the opportunity to attend a live performance of this transforming piece of music that they have scheduled two performances. Additionally, in an effort to be accessible to every price level, they have decided to offer single tickets for only $25 and $10.
Founded in 1927, seven local musicians came together to form the Lincoln Symphony Orchestra, known then as the Lincoln Little Symphony Orchestra. LSO was established to fulfill the need for live orchestrated music among the people of Lincoln. The performance and advancement of symphonic music allows audience members to experience the essence of live compositions in addition to gaining an appreciation for compositional music.
According to their mission statement, LSO strives to enrich, educate and entertain current and potential audiences through their many inspiring programs and events. These include: The Young People’s Concerts, Educational Rehearsals, Master Classes, Musical Petting Zoos, Pre-Concert Chats, and Lollypops.
