Music & Mozzarella is Back at the Lincoln Children’s Museum
Posted on June 3, 2010 in Arts & Entertainment 0 Comments
It is no secret that the Lincoln Children’s Museum is someplace special. Creating programs with children in mind is their business, and they do it well. On June 17th the Lincoln Children’s Museum will be welcoming back one of its favorite events “Music & Mozzarella”.
Music & Mozzarella began back in 2005 and has been a consistent part of the museum’s summer programming since. Last year 3,300 people attended the program making it a clear success. Since starting the program the museum has done an excellent job of bringing in top notch entertainment for families.
Each week, a different music group is highlighted. Originally, the concept for the program was to feature world music and since its birth has developed into a place for families to experience music from top children’s acts in the nation. Some of the featured acts for this year’s series include Lincoln’s own, The String Beans. Acts like the Doo-Dads, Mr. Stinky Feet, Mike Mennard, The Littleague, and Sugar Free Allstars will also make appearances.
Because of sponsors each concert is free to the public. Things kick off each Thursday night at 5:00 p.m. with Valentino’s pizza. A meal includes a pizza slice, breadstick and pop for $3.50. At 6 p.m. the concert begins. Music & Mozzarella will continue through July 22nd.
