Post & Nickel Owners Take Over Doozy’s

Tafe & Davide Bergo, owners of Post & Nickel, recently bought the Doozy’s franchise on March 4th.  Tafe and Davide have enjoyed the new venture for more reasons than being conveniently located across the street from Post & Nickel.

“Doozy’s is one of the few places where I believe that the quality, quantity and price work extremely well,” stated Davide.  Davide’s wife, Tafe, was also enthusiastic as she stated, “the product is great and the location is gold.”

Doozy’s has been located downtown since the early 90’s and the Bergos have taken notice to its extremely loyal fan base.  “We believe in downtown, and the atmosphere that it provides,” said the Bergos.  Tafe and Davide also feel lucky to have such a talented and committed staff and are glad that they stayed with them through the transition.

Doozy’s recently was selected as the #1 Sandwich Place in the city by Lincoln Journal Star reporter Jeff Korbelik.  Knowing this, the Bergos realize that it is important not to break up what has already been working.  Doozy’s will still serve, cater and deliver the same popular subs such as the Italian, Steak & Cheese, and Pizza sub.

Since Davide and Tafe have taken ownership of Doozy’s, there have been a few minor, but advantageous changes.  Doozy’s now has extended hours and are open on Saturday until 9 PM and the Sunday hours have extended to 12-7 PM.  Doozy’s has also started offering a new menu item: Queso Quesadillas.  These quesadillas are made with whole wheat tortillas, mozzarella and provolone cheese.  You can spice them up by adding green peppers, onions, mushrooms, sour cream or salsa.

Doozy’s menu consists of oven baked subs, pizza, salads and more.  The Doozy’s promise consists of a fresh and delicious dining experience, where Tafe and Davide want to emphasize that the same fresh product can be delivered or catered to your door as well.
