Stores Below 1st Floors: Suite 1 Pub & Pizza
Posted on October 8, 2009 in Restaurant & Retail 1 Comment
311 N. 8th Street
Downtown Lincoln is home to nearly 1000 businesses, 28,000 employees and 300 retail establishments. Since these businesses are located in the urban part of town, an overwhelming majority of them are located above first floor. Although most downtown retail venues operate on the street level, it can be easy to forget that there are some unique dining and shopping experiences below the first floor. As a reminder, we wanted to start a series highlighting The Stores Below First Floors
Part 1: Suite 1 Pub & Pizza.
Scott Thorson has always dreamed of owning a pizza shop from the time he was a young kid. Originally from Aurora, Nebraska Scott has now ended up in Lincoln, and his dream has come true. Suite 1 Pub & Pizza located in the basement of the Sullivan Building at 311 N 8th Street in the Historic Haymarket District provides an ideal family atmosphere for pizza, fun, and games. Suite 1 serves up a menu of Chicago Style deep dish pizza, Vienna Hot Dogs, Calzones and thin crust pizza. They offer pool tables, Foosball, darts and a shuffleboard. Suite 1 is also equipped with a unique beer garden located in back of the Sullivan building.
Since establishing Suite 1 Pub & Pizza, Scott has tried to keep his products local, offering a beer selection of eight different Nebraska brewed beers. Along with the local beer is a pizza sauce made right here in Lincoln. Suite 1’s thin crust pizza is topped with the Original Pizza Sauce of Outlaw Spice Co. With their location in the Haymarket a few blocks away from the University, Suite 1 Pub & Pizza is a definite fun and unique dining experience. For more information about Suite 1 Pub & Pizza visit suite-1.com or call 402.805.4135.

Do yourself a favor and get a deep dish Chicago supreme. It is on my list of ‘must-haves’ when returning to Nebraska, along with Runza, of course.
