A regional premiere production! TADA is one of the first theatres in the region to be granted the rights to do this Tony Award winning musical that tells the hilarious yet heartwarming story of a group of six anxiety-ridden overachieving adolescents vying for the spelling bee championship of a lifetime who are overseen by a gathering of adults who barely managed to escape childhood themselves.

The young participants may be able to spell strabismus, capybara and phylactery, but that doesn’t make it any easier growing up. However, along the way, they learn that winning isn’t everything and losing doesn’t necessarily make you a loser. Also, some of you will want to brush up on your spelling. At each performance, four audience members are recruited as last minute entrees. These “guest spellers” will insure a fun and different evening of theater, night after night. Praised by the New York Times as “irresistible and entirely lovable,” The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee is a show that is a must see!
