Details

Come see some of the well-preserved cargo of the Steamboat Bertrand, which sank into the Missouri River on April 1, 1865. As part of the 50th anniversary celebration of the Midwest Archeological Center, this exhibit will showcase some of the objects Center staff helped preserve in the 1970s after the wreck was excavated and again in 2011 when the museum collection was threatened by Missouri River flooding. The recovered artifacts are on loan from the DeSoto National Wildlife Refuge near Missouri Valley, Iowa.
