WHAT are First Friday Artwalks?

First Friday Artwalks are held on the first Friday of every month at galleries and businesses in Downtown Lincoln. Paintings, photography, clothing, sculpture, music and much more can be found as you stroll from gallery to gallery. Support local artists and businesses while enjoying appetizers. Join us for every First Friday Artwalk!

WHEN do First Friday Artwalks take place?

First Friday Artwalk starts at 5:00 PM on the First Friday of every month.  The opening and closing times vary depending on the curator and the last session typically ends at 10:00 PM.

WHO Participates?

Downtown Lincoln is home to over 50 art galleries, most of which participate in First Friday Artwalks.  A variety of buildings in downtown Lincoln host several galleries, creating a diverse, one-stop-shop to display local talent.

Several downtown retailers also take part in First Friday Artwalks.  These venues display different works of art, while offering music & appetizers.

WHERE do First Friday Artwalks take place?

The largest network of art galleries are located in downtown Lincoln from 7th to 17th Streets East to West and the UNL Campus to the State Capitol North to South.  Once you have your First Friday map you can start at ANY of the participating venues. 

How do I get involved?

The easiest way to get involved is by visiting downtown Lincoln and participating in First Friday Artwalks.  To assist with your experience, DLA has provided First Friday Artwalk brochures, which will guide you to all of the participating venues.  Brochures are handed out at various First Friday locations.
