What You’ll Do!
Our Case Managers (known as “Professional Partner”) serve a vital role to support consumers in our Family & Youth Investment program.This position provides wraparound services to individuals under the age of 26, who are diagnosable with a mental illness (Serious Emotional Disturbances or SED) and residing in Region V Systems’ geographical area (southeast Nebraska). Persons served are at risk of being placed outside of the home, school, or community and are at risk for involvement in the juvenile justice and/or child welfare systems, which may include committing a criminal offense or behavioral health problems at school or home. The population served is primarily school-aged youth but also includes those individuals who are transitioning from the youth system to the adult system and who are at risk of entering, or have already entered, the adult emergency system.
You will use your problem-solving skills to work with your program participants (15 caseload maximum!) to develop a unique and creative plan to build on the natural support systems in their lives. What You’ll Have!
• Bachelor’s degree in human services or related field. We welcome recent college grads! Extensive experience (3 or more years) in related human services field may be substituted for degree.
• This experience will soar you to the top of our list: 2 years’ experience working with persons with serious emotional disturbances (SED) and/or 2 years’ experience in a behavioral health direct service position.
• Strong communication skills, effective facilitation of team meetings, authoring concise progress notes, and prioritizing multiple tasks are some of the skills you need.
• Ability to coordinate with external agencies that are also working with your program participants is crucial.
• Personal, reliable transportation.
• Satisfactory background investigation is required.

DESCRIPTION: Under immediate to general supervision, the seasonal groundskeeper performs routine grounds maintenance duties including watering, mowing, and trimming grass; seeding; planting trees, shrubs, perennials and annuals; fertilizing; applying pesticides; weeding flower beds; trimming trees and shrubs; may perform routine building and equipment maintenance and manual labor tasks. Incumbents work individually, as a member of a work crew, or while assisting supervisory staff or skilled maintenance technicians; perform related work as required.
EXAMPLES OF WORK: (The following is a list of possible duties this position may be assigned. Additional duties may be added to this list if the need arises.)
Mowing, string trimming, edging and aerating in turf areas.
Assist crew leader in applying fertilizer and/or herbicides to turf areas
Assist crew leader and/or irrigation technician in the installation and repair of irrigation systems
Remove dead plant material, weeds and other debris from sidewalks and planting beds
Apply mulch to planting beds
Assist in planting trees, shrubs, perennials and annual plants
Assist in tree and shrub pruning.
Loads, unloads and moves furniture, equipment, materials and supplies.
Operates machinery, equipment and tools in the performance of duties
Assist in maintaining all equipment, tools and machinery in working order.
Performs routine building maintenance to include, cleaning; and minor painting, carpentry, plumbing and electrical repairs.
Prepares reports and keeps records of time worked, materials used and equipment maintenance.
Must drive assigned vehicles in a safe, courteous and legal fashion. All work will be done in an efficient manner to keep vehicle mileage to a minimum. The vehicle is not to be operated outside our boundaries without the Maintenance Director’s consent. The vehicle will be safety checked and fluids monitored daily.
Must follow all safety policies and requirements as outlined in the DLA Employee Safety Manual.
Other duties as assigned.
***Position is seasonal, April 14, 2024 - Oct. 12th, 2024. Some weekend availability may be required.***
