The Street Outreach Worker shall offer runaway and homeless youth on-going support, aid, education and guidance. The Street Outreach Worker will serve to link runaway and homeless youth and their families with community resources equipped to address their needs.

Responsibilities

Be knowledgeable of street culture, including where youth hang-out, how to approach, street language, etc.
Develop and maintain resource information on services available for runaway and homeless youth.
Be visible within the community and provide street outreach to youth, which include such services as crisis intervention, information and referrals, sex education, drug and alcohol education, assistance, aid, encouragement and support.
Participate in community speaking engagements and facilitate youth groups and other activities.
Maintain accurate records, statistics, and documentation. Participate in the evaluation of street outreach services goals and objectives.
In collaboration with the staff team, plan and coordinate the delivery of direct services to youth and families, working toward reuniting runaway youth with their families when appropriate.

Job Skills / Requirements

Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree or Associate's Degree in social work, human services, psychology or closely related field, but consideration will be given to all applicants including those without a degree
1 year of experience working with children and families and/or other similar work related experience
Valid Nebraska driver’s license and a good driving record.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
*Drivers operate heavy-duty trucks and are responsible for the collection of residential/commercial waste or recyclable material
*Driver will transport the material to a disposal, transfer, or recycle facility when trucks reach legal load capacity
*Driver is responsible for safely operating a commercial motor vehicle, and providing prompt and complete collection services
*Driver safely maneuvers vehicle in residential/commercial environments, including and not limited to highways, residential communities, and alleyways
*Works closely with Route Manager to improve route efficiencies and identify best practices
*Notifies Route Manager of any incidents, accidents, injures, or property damage *Notifies Route Manager of service interruptions including closed or impassable streets or alleyways, receptacles too heavy to service, or potential safety hazards *Communicates customer requests to Route Manager
*Completely dumps all receptacles and leaves the customers location clean and free of debris
*Follows route assignments as directed and completes end of day documentation and check out process
*Performs all duties as scheduled by Route Manager and assists other drivers as directed to meet customer needs
*Continuously monitor the condition of the vehicle to ensure it is always operationally ready to minimize downtime QUALIFICATIONS:
*Can require physical work; heavier lifting, pushing, or pulling required of objects over 50 pounds.
*Ability to safely operate a garbage truck on specified routes to collect waste. *Courteous interaction with our customers and perform other miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
*Basic knowledge of truck components to complete pre-and post-trip inspections.
*Loading and emptying residential/commercial containers
*Completing route assignments in a timely manner
*Ability to work in n environment that involves some exposure to physical risks such as moving mechanical parts. MINIMUM JOB

REQUIREMENTS:
*Valid CDL, Class B preferred, but not required.
*Must have a clean driving record.
*Ability to read, write, comprehend, and communicate in English.
