MODO Mochi Donut & Bubble Tea: The Trendiest Dessert Hits Lincoln
MODO Mochi Donut & Bubble Tea is the newest donut shop to open its doors.
BY TESSA WISER
A new type of donut is available in Downtown Lincoln.
Owner Hui Guo opened MODO Mochi on April 12. Guo owns two Grey Whale Sushi and Grey Whale Poke Bowl, Kasumi Sushi, Itsumo Ramen, and now MODO Mochi Donut & Bubble Tea.
Some of the most popular items on the menu: a Churro Mochi Donut, a Matcha Mochi Waffle, and a Brown Sugar Milk Tea.
MODO Mochi takes a new twist on the classic donut. Instead of using the typical wheat flour, MODO Mochi uses rice flour in their donuts.
Mochi Donuts are a fusion pastry stemming from the traditional American-style donut and the Japanese sweet treat mochi. The rise in popularity of the mochi donut comes from mixing these two ideas to create a hybrid donut that is fluffy and moist, slightly sweet, but ends with a satisfying and flavorful chew.
Order at the kiosks inside, or the counter. For more information visit their website.
MODO Mochi Donut & Bubble Tea is open Monday through Thursday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Friday through Sunday from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.
