ABOUT THE BOOK:
Max lives with his grandmother. His dad is in the army and his mom is a busy nurse in a different town. To make matters worse, the kids at his new school make fun of his name. Max takes a walk in the woods and sits by an old tree. Max is upset. He wants his old life back and his feelings come pouring out. Max learns lessons from the old tree about deep roots and connections always coming back. Max has found his own tree for listening and for coming back. As he begins to feel better, his troubles seem smaller. Max starts making plans to help everyone find their own listening tree, or plant one.
