Date and Time for this Past Event

Details

Clara Bewick Colby’s personal devotion to Nebraska’s state motto “Equality Before the Law,” caused her to break out of the ranks of socially engaged local leaders to become an influential voice in the woman suffrage movement. She also helped women connect with other women, so they could be nurtured into women’s rights activists as she had during her early years in Nebraska.

Join us at the Nebraska History Museum from noon to 1 pm on March 19th to hear Dr. Kristin Mapel Bloomberg talk about Clara Bewick Colby's activist journey.

Dr. Bloomberg is a professor of women’s studies and Hamline University Endowed Chair in the Humanities at Hamline University in St. Paul, Minnesota.
