This networking opportunity will double as an informative panel with guest speakers who will talk about the importance of the "down-ballot" offices that don’t get as much attention as federal and state offices, but are nonetheless important. We are calling it "Lincoln Voting 101" because the goal is to educate our young professional members on all the various offices that they have the ability to vote on and the impact they have on local businesses and on all of us as Lincoln citizens. Many people don't make it to the polls or get involved at all because they simply don't know what's going on—from the different office positions to the voting schedule itself.
Starting at 6 p.m., the following speakers will give a general overview of these items in a way that will be easy for everyone to understand:
John Olsson, Executive Vice President at Olsson - Lincoln Airport Authority
Matt Schulte, Executive Director of Campus Life - Candidate for Lancaster County Commissioner District 3 and Member of the LPS School Board (2015-2019)
Pam Dingman, Owner of Engineering Design Consultants, LLC - Lancaster County Engineer in Nebraska (running for re-election)
