If you know YAAMC, you know they’re a can’t-miss band. And if you don’t know them, they’re the lo-fi skramz project of Chicago musician Tyler Odom, who has seriously released two modern emo classics in the past five years – 2020’s self-titled LP and last year’s “death of a rabbit.”
People love the band for the anxious walls of jazz chords, blast beats and Casio synth – but it’s really Odom’s passionate vocals that are the selling point.
They’re playing Duffy’s on February 5 with Your Own Knife and Western Haikus.
