Step up your Bar Game with Taiga Lounge

The Haymarket is no stranger to fun and funky bars. Hidden behind Hilton Garden Inn, Taiga Lounge has opened its doors for a never-ending party.

Next door to Bourbon Street on 8th and R, Taiga Lounge promises the ultimate nightlife experience. Owner Sami Alsharo has jumped in head first with his initial business, creating a high-end lounge in Downtown Lincoln. 

“I wanted to bring something unique to [the Haymarket],” Alsharo said. 

The meaning behind the name has Japanese roots; “taiga” translates to ‘big and gracious’. 

“We want to welcome the students back with a new bar,” Alsharo said. “A big, fun dance party at a new bar in the Haymarket.” 

Thursdays are karaoke nights, and a different local DJ will perform each Friday. Those who want a quieter, atmospheric evening can head out to the patio where the music is different from the inside and love seats are scattered throughout the elevated patio.

Taiga Lounge caters to all crowds–perfect for a night of dancing and a cooling conversation in the Haymarket at night. 

Taiga Lounge is the newest partner bar and stop on the Group Therapy Bike Tours route. This spot also provides an ATM onsite.

Taiga Lounge is open Wednesday and Thursday from 7 p.m. to 2 a.m.; Friday from 4 p.m. to 2 a.m., Saturday from 12 p.m. to 2 a.m.; and Sunday from 2 p.m. to 10 p.m.
