"I'm a Nebraska girl, born and raised, however I have a love/hate relationship when it comes to the color red in my art and wardrobe; still go Huskers! I have very little (none at all) background in art. I can attribute my fiber art education to YouTube, library books, and Instagram. It wasn't until April 2019 that I added "artist" to my resume, but saying that word out loud to describe myself didn't come until much later. For as long as I can remember, I have wanted to cultivate my creative side, but most of the time, the execution and dedication to honing a talent in that realm of the world never flourished. I remember pulling down my mom's craft boxes or scouring through her sewing kit with the ambition to create something amazing, but education was spent on a Nutrition and Exercise degree, but there wasn't much time to pursue a career in this area. As a stay-at-home mom for almost three years, I began my Etsy shop Robinandarose as a way to stay busy with something outside of parenting, but the spark truly began after seeing a beautiful woven piece in a friend's home and thinking to myself, 'I could do that'. My first loom was crafted out of an old picture frame and some nails I scavenged out of my hammerless toolbox; thank goodness for contractor husbands! I haven't cultivated a specific style in my weaving, but I love to experiment with different colors, textures and depths, while also learning new techniques; my absolute favorite combination is how roving woven in the soumak technique looks next to a tabby weave." - Bailey
