Lincoln Transportation and Utilities (LTU) Lincoln Wastewater System invites the public to an online meeting for the Downtown Sanitary Pipe Replacement project on Tuesday, November 16 at 6:30 p.m. Those interested in the project can register for the meeting at: www.lincoln.ne.gov/DowntownPipeReplacement
At the online public meeting, the presentation will focus on the nature and necessity of this project and anticipated temporary impacts. Following the presentation, project team representatives will be on-hand to answer questions, receive comments and discuss specific impacts.
Lincoln Wastewater System will be replacing approximately 900 feet of sanitary pipe in Downtown Lincoln. The current infrastructure, located in the alley between “Q” and “P” streets, and North 11th and North 13th streets, is approximately 130 years old and is showing signs of deterioration. Normal maintenance activities are beginning to affect the integrity of the current pipe. This replacement project will make the sanitary pipe more maintainable, which in turn will provide more reliable wastewater service to customers who are connected to the line.
