Along with performing and entertaining, Joey Gulizia has been involved in music education for over 40 years, conducting hundreds of residencies, workshops, and clinics for students of all ages. He was inducted to the Nebraska Music Hall of Fame and has received the Excellence in Education Award by the Governor of Nebraska. Joey is currently artist-in-residence at UNO, and has traveled extensively, including all 50 of the United States. The Young Lions All-Star Band is selected by audition and is directed by Ed Love, NJO Music Director. The ensemble, made up of students under 22 years old from across the state, will perform on one half of this NJO concert.
