MATT AXTON is pure legacy driven Americana. This multi-talented songwriter, vocalist, guitarist, and band leader's music weaves perfectly into late night honky-tonks, large festivals or intimate theaters.
Matt Axton likes to think of his music as a “Humble slice of Americana”, a mix of folk, funk, country, blues and rock with a little bit of everything else he can find thrown in. He rides the line between the Country Bumpkin and the Classical Master, pulling inspiration from every life journey, whether it's the simple joy of fresh air on a beautiful mountain day or the grind of a packed overnight ride to the next gig. Having a song connect and bring a smile or a tear to the face of a new friend is about as close to magic as he has found in this life.
Some would say music is in the blood. He was lucky enough to be born into a musical family and he is proud to keep the Axton Family Legacy alive. With his grandmother Mae "Queen Mother of Nashville" Axton - PR maven / Songwriter - "Heartbreak Hotel". His father Hoyt Axton - Singer/Songwriter/Actor - "Joy to the world", "Della and the Dealer" and "Gremlins". And his mom Donna Axton - Composer/Professor of Music/Piano Master as his guides, his musical journey took flight.
Having an open mind, surrounding himself with good people, and going wherever the song takes him, seems to be the best way to travel. And Matt hopes you can join him somewhere along this crazy journey.
