The Saint Paul Choir, under the direction of Paul Robinson, and the Lincoln North Star Concert Choirs, under the direction of Logan Langholdt present “Songs of Unity and Peace” on November 17 at 3:00 p.m. at Saint Paul United Methodist Church.

After yet another challenging election cycle, join us for a special afternoon of music that will remind us of our shared humanity, our need for one another, and a unified vision for a world built on love. The concert will feature Kyle Pederson’s moving work, A Vision Unfolding, with narration provided by Nebraska Public Media radio host Genevieve Randall.

A Vision Unfolding is centered around themes of social justice—inviting the audience into a compelling vision of a world rooted in compassion, freedom, inclusivity and justice. Texts by Langston Hughes, Walt Whitman, Robert Bode, Shanelle Gabriel, and Pederson invite the listener to reach out and build bridges of care and connection, so that we might find a better way of being in community. The five-movement work encourages us to stand in solidarity with those whose voices are too often dismissed and to make the effort to see them as people just as worthy of respect and dignity.

This event is open to the public. While admission is free, a recommended donation of $10 will help support future music ministry opportunities in the Lincoln community. The concert will also be live-streamed at saintpaulumc.org and on our Facebook page.
