Join us as author John T. Price visits Francie & Finch Bookshop and reads from his newest work of non-fiction, Goethe's Oak: A Holocaust Story.
“A tree that thinks — most of us would imagine this impossible. Yet in Goethe’s Oak, John Price has created a compassionate, compelling, and utterly believable narrator. Its story is a meditation on nature, loss, rebirth, and time. Most of all, it’s a treatise on how to be human.”—Hope Edelman, The AfterGrief

About the Book:
Writing from the perspective of the legendary Goethe’s Oak, John T. Price reimagines and honors the life of an extraordinary tree. Drawing on centuries of human remembrances, from the tree’s namesake, writer Johann Wolfgang von Goethe, to prisoners at Buchenwald in the 1940s, Price intertwines their stories with recent scientific research into the underground communication networks of trees. Goethe’s Oak offers readers a poignant yet inspiring picture of nature’s ability to comfort. (icecubepress.com)
