Saint Paul United Methodist Church will host a community Pet Blessing on Sunday, October 5, from 2 to 4 p.m. at the church, 1144 M Street in Lincoln. The event is free and open to the public.
The celebration will include individual blessings for pets from the church’s pastors, commemorative medallions, a photo opportunity, children’s activities, and treats for both people and pets. Local vendors and service providers will provide materials, and rescue organizations will bring adoptable dogs to meet.
Those wishing to participate are invited to bring their pets to receive a blessing. For pets unable to attend, or for animals remembered in spirit, participants may bring a photo or keepsake to receive a blessing in their honor. For the safety of all attendees, animals should remain leashed or crated and be current on vaccinations.
Donations of pet food, treats, toys, and other supplies will be collected to support local rescue organizations.
